PURPOSE
The AALL Spectrum Editorial Board helps shape, solicit, and curate the content of AALL Spectrum.
CHARGE
The AALL Spectrum Editorial Board serves as a group of advisors to the AALL Spectrum editor to help shape, solicit, and curate content for the magazine based on the professional needs of AALL members. The goal is to develop, identify, and publish articles about current and emerging trends and practices in the profession that will support AALL members in their work as legal information professionals.
Content for the magazine will relate to six content areas that reinforce AALL’s Strategic Directions and overall education program. The content areas are:
- Data Analytics
- Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
- Education
- Innovation
- Leadership & Career Development
- Technology
TIME COMMITMENT
Members of board are required to take part in monthly conference calls to discuss potential submissions and content for upcoming issues of AALL Spectrum.
QUALIFICATIONS
Members of the board reflect the diversity of AALL members in terms of library type; areas of subject interest; and age, gender, and minority status. Qualified candidates should have strong professional networks, expertise in one or more content areas, and be comfortable reaching out to potential authors for content. Applicants should also maintain a keen interest in the state of the industry, continuing legal education, emerging trends, and have a passion for legal innovation and technology. Experience in writing, editing, and publication production is also considered.
TENURE
Members of the AALL Spectrum Editorial Board serve for a two-year term.
SIZE
The AALL Spectrum Editorial Board consists of a chair (editor), six members, and a staff liaison.
