What
The Girls of Steel program combines training and job skills with the aim of employment on completion.

Course work will be underpinned by a Certificate II in Engineering. The course is project-based, including the manufacture of park furniture for councils, sculptures, trailers, signposts and bespoke letterboxes.

Our next Girls of Steel program commences in April 2024. To be eligible, registration with a Workforce Australia Employment Service Provider is required.

We have flexible course hours within school terms to support participants of all ages.

Why
Nationally, just over 12% of the engineering labour workforce is female. This project aims to foster gender diversity in the workplace, by placing women in non-traditional roles. We aim to provide a smooth and supported transition for our participants into the workforce.
