Returning for the third year the People In Parking Awards judges wanted to hear your inspirational stories of teams and individuals stepping up to take on new roles, learn new skills and support their communities. We’d like to hear from you if you know of anyone who has gone the extra mile, made you smile, helped keep the team’s spirits level up during a crazy time, done an exceptional job, kept going when the going got tough… there is a category for everyone! 

  1. Team Leader Award – Inspiring leader
  2. Colleagues, Colleague Award – An individual who has gone over and above their job role for their colleagues or employer
  3. Community Award – Recognising someone who has gone above and beyond on the front line
  4. Long Service Award – over 15 years service 
  5. Outstanding Contribution Award – Could be a piece of work or a project and a team can be put forward as well as an individual
  6. Inspirational Woman in Parking - A woman who has inspired others

Criteria and nomination guidelines 

Team Leader Award - Inspiring Leader

Submissions must include nominee name, position held and a brief overview of their parking career history. Supporting evidence can include testimonials from peers or colleagues, and details of personal or professional achievements where relevant. The panel will be looking to see how this individual stands out to others as an inspirational leader and what positive impact they have had on their team.

 Colleagues, Colleague Award - An individual who has gone over and above their job role for their colleagues or employer

Submissions must include the nominee name, position held and a brief overview of their parking career history. Supporting evidence can include testimonials from peers or colleagues; these should demonstrate how the nominee has achieved above and beyond what is expected of them. The panel will be looking for evidence of the positive impact the actions of this person has had on their fellow colleagues and employer.

 Community Award – Recognising someone who has gone above and beyond on the front line

This is open to Civil Enforcement Officers, Parking Attendants, Park & Ride and Parking shop personnel, contact centre employees, and anyone else working on the front line to keep the sector working as it should.  The panel will be looking for testimonials that show the influence and impact that the individual has made within their local community.  Submissions must include nominee name, position held and a brief overview of their parking career to date.  Details of training undertaken, along with any other achievements whether professional or personal should also be included.

 Long Service Award – over 15 year’s service

To be awarded to the parking professional who has had a significant impact within the sector. Submissions must include the name and current position of the nominee, a timeline of their career in parking; testimonials, references, and any milestone achievements either professional or personal.

The panel will be looking for evidence of commitment to improving the sector, how this individual has applied consistent good practice, participated in gaining professional qualifications, and who has an active role through membership of other professional bodies. The submission should also demonstrate how this person commands high levels of respect amongst colleagues/employees. If any individual submits themselves as a nominee then contact details of a referee must be provided.

 Outstanding Contribution Award –A piece of work or a project produced by a team or an individual

This is for those parking professionals, whether a team or individual, who have made an outstanding contribution to the sector.  Submissions must include the names of the nominee (s), roles within the team and the work which has been completed by them. Testimonials can be included from colleagues and peers, and the panel will be looking for evidence of how this work has had a positive impact on the sector and community in which the team is involved in.

Inspirational Woman in Parking -  A woman who has inspired others

Supported by Women in Parking, this award will recognise a woman who has inspired others, shown dedication and determination to succeed in their endeavours, supported those around them and led by example. Submissions must include nominee name, position held and a brief overview of their parking career history.
