#APCRSHR10 virtual: online series for knowledge sharing, eLearning and dialogue on sexual and reproductive health and rights in Asia Pacific: June-December 2020


In the wake of the ongoing coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic situation, the convenor and International Steering Committee members of the 10th Asia Pacific Conference on Reproductive and Sexual Health and Rights (APCRSHR10) had announced on 1st June 2020 that the APCRSHR10 will evolve from an in-person conference to an ongoing virtual series.

On behalf of APCRSHR10 and Reproductive Health Association of Cambodia (RHAC) we are delighted to share that #APCRSHR10 virtual will be hosted every fortnight in the form of 14 online sessions-each of about 90 minutes duration- during June to December 2020.

#APCRSHR10 virtual will feature thematic online sessions with plenary speakers and top-ranking abstract presenters, among other insights and discussions around sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), COVID-19 impact and SDGs in the Asia Pacific regional context.

Co-hosted by APCRSHR10/ RHAC and CNS, these online sessions will be streamed LIVE every fortnight from June to December 2020 on Facebook page of APCRSHR10 and CNS too.

There is no registration fee to attend APCRSHR10 virtual, and all are welcome! Those who attend and actively participate in at least any 7 of the 14 APCRSHR10 virtual sessions will be awarded an online certificate of participation in APCRSHR10 virtual in January 2021.

  • Feed into in-depth thematic articles (which get published via CNS syndication)
  • Feed into articles written by APCRSHR10 Media Fellows from several countries in the region

  • Gita Sen, Harvard University and the Public Health Foundation of India: Gita played a prominent role at ICPD 1994, and has been a champion of the Programme of Action in India and globally, a key UNFPA partner who contributed to the ICPD25 Nairobi Summit in 2019as well.
  • Junice Melgar, Likhaan Center for Women's Health, Philippines: Junice has been a long-time champion of SRHR and family planning in the Philippines, playing a key role in advocating for the country's landmark Reproductive Health Law.
  • Catherine Harry, A Dose of Cath, Cambodia: An outspoken youth activist and media personality in what remains a conservative society, Catherine talks frankly about sexual and reproductive health and rights, including the rights and needs of young persons, with a highly popular YouTube channel and other multimedia platforms.
  • Cai Cong, SRHR and disability rights pioneer, China: Cong is widely regarded as a revolutionary in raising awareness of the realities of persons living with disabilities in China, breaking stereotypes and bringing about change - including in how society views SRHR issues vis-a-vis people like him. He attended ICPD25 Nairobi, and came away all the more inspired and determined to push ahead with his ground-breaking work.
